ABOUT US

About Us

Our company was founded on the premise of building affordable pools that exceed the dreams of our homeowners. Working together, we create the pool to make you proud. When decisions are required, we consult with you to make them, as we are all part of the same team. Quality is built into every pool.

Our success is based on each owner's complete satisfaction.

Hi! I'm Nick Rosenberg

Growing up in Houston in the 70’s and 80’s meant three things:

  1. Orange and blue were your favorite colors
  2. The Astrodome was the most amazing thing ever built
  3. There wasn’t a Shipleys on every corner.

Heck even Mattress Mack had brown hair.

I was born and raised in Spring, and I remember those days like they were yesterday.

Upon graduating high school, I spent several years in the United States Army before meeting the love of my life, Lisa, at Sam Houston State.

Life carried our young family to East Texas where we started a landscape and irrigation business with a $100 investment. Young, bold, and fearless we turned that investment into a thriving enterprise. Over the next 18 years we earned a reputation for excellence in our designs and project management, and our customer relations were unparalleled.

The entrepreneur mindset coupled with opportunity drew me back to my roots. Designing spaces for families to relax, have fun and make memories is the best part of my career.

I have been fortunate to partner with Houston Pool Design Construction Co., a Houston pool builder since 1983. We are proud to continue that long-standing reputation of excellence under the banner of Pools of Houston, Inc.

Come along for the ride so that we can show you how much “You Matter”

Before the Consultation

Email a copy of your home property survey to our designer. nick@houstonpool.com — Your survey can be found with the home closing papers.

Think about how you intend to use your pool.
Some things to consider:

  • Shape and style - Freeform or Geometric
  • Size and depth
  • Spa – Raised or Level
  • Sanitation System – Salt, Chlorine, or Ozone
  • Coping style – Travertine, Brick, or Flagstone
  • Decking style – Concrete, Travertine, Flagstone, or Pavers
  • Interior finish – White or colored plaster, Quartz, or Pebble
  • Additional features – Tanning ledge, Umbrella holders, Benches, Bubblers, Automation, Waterfalls, Raised beams with sheer descents, Fire features
  • What is your comfortable budget range? Our designer wants to maximize the features you desire while maintaining a price point that works for you.
  • Financing - If you are planning a Home Improvement or Home Equity Loan, let us know. We want to help and have financing partners to take care of you.

Consultation

We offer an in-depth consultation where our designer educates the customer on the design and building process. We will discuss pool styles, features, and options to meet the customer’s wants and dreams. Our experienced designer is trained to look for easements, utility lines, and drainage. If any of these lines require rerouting, those allowances can be included in your estimate, avoiding ‘surprise’ expenses later.

3D Pool Design

This is where we shine. Our designer uses sophisticated design software to provide the customer with a detailed, to-scale, 3D rendering of your new outdoor retreat. Our attention to detail is evident at every phase of your project. Our designer works with you to make revisions as necessary at this stage so that your dream pool is realized.

Quote, Contract, and Permits

Once the design is approved, the detailed quote will be prepared and presented. The contract is ready to be signed at this point. Many neighborhoods require HOA approval. We provide the necessary documents for you to submit. If permits are required by your municipality, we handle the permitting procedures.

Tile and Coping Selections

The designer will help guide you through the tile and coping selections. You have many options to create the perfect look for your custom pool.

Layout and Excavation

This is the first stage in the construction process. Prior to excavation, the project manager will mark the precise location of your pool. You will be able to see the actual size of your pool and how it fits in your outdoor space.

Dig Day is an exciting day! Our skilled excavation team works with precision to remove grass and soil to reveal the footprint of your pool.

Steel and Rebar

Steel framing is installed to give strength to the gunite shell. This isn’t the most visually pleasing phase of the project, but it is essential for the structural integrity of your pool.

Plumbing

Plumbing is installed by a licensed plumber prior to gunite. The plumbing system is pressure-tested.

Gunite

Gunite is the hard shell of your pool. Our expert craftsmen have been installing gunite in Houston for over 40 years. Gunite is applied through high-pressure hoses and then hand-sculpted to create the intricate details of your pools.

Electrical

Our electrical components are installed by a licensed electrician to meet all city, state, and federal guidelines.

Tile, Coping, and Decking

Once the gunite is cured (two weeks), coping and tile will be delivered and installed. Tile will be installed along the waterline of your pool by our experienced stone masons. The coping is installed on the top or “beam” of your pool. This defines the perimeter of your pool. If applicable, waterfalls or rock features are installed during this phase.

Your custom pool deck is installed next. You can choose from a variety of decking materials such as Brushed Concrete, Exposed Aggregate, SUNDEK, Travertine or Pavers.

Plaster, Startup, and Pool School

Plaster is the interior finish of your pool and gives your pool water its beautiful color. Whether you choose white or colored plaster, quartz or pebble finish, we follow the startup procedures recommended by WetEdge Technologies and our experienced plaster installation team.

Once your pool is filled, we will walk you through the startup procedures and introduce the first round of chemical treatment to your pool. After the first month, we will schedule an appointment to clean your filter. During Pool School, we will teach you how to operate your equipment and maintain your pool. Our goal is to educate you so that you are confident in caring for your new pool.
